Jesup Rotary - Newsletter - Current (Jan 9, 2008)

The Jesup Rotary Club Board of Directors met Monday, January 7 at Captain Joe's Restaurant. 11 of the 13 board members attended the meeting. A number of items were discussed and the following actions were taken by the board.

1. Sybil Lynn owner of Sybil's Restaurant notify the board of an increase of $.50 per meal. The board of directors decided to accept the $.50 increase which will now make the cost of our meals $6.50 per person.

2. There was a discussion of the board reference the effect of the increase on the overall budget of our club. There has not been an increase in our dues in a number of years, futher if all our members were to attend every meeting we would not have the funds to pay for our meals. Consequently it was decided by the board to increase our quarterly dues by $10.00.

3. It was decided by the board that after comparing two websites, i.e. Web Wizard and Web Runner due to the ease of operation our website would be Web Wizard.

4. Kenney and Pattie Bryant have graciously offered their home as the site for our Jesup Rotary Christmas party... This year's party will be held at the Bryant's home on January 31st.

5. The board of directors decided that a letter to the Florida Barbecue Society reference a sanctioned barbecue contest should be sent as soon as possible. However due to problems with the date of the contest and otheri mportant matters we have extended the time for the contest one year.

6. John Puccio, Bill Harvey, and Dave Harrell will developed a system regarding new members and the process of getting them on the roles of Rotary International, Rotary District 6920, etc.
